Security fence panels for homes and businesses

Security fencing does two jobs: it keeps things out, and it keeps things in, from pets and children at home to equipment and stock at work.

What makes a fence harder to get past

Height, the shape of the top, where the rails sit and how the gates lock all matter. We talk through each one at the measure.

Elevation of a spear-top security fence panel, with labels: pointed tops, rails on the inside face, close pickets, posts set in the ground, and a lockable gate 1324
Simplified elevation, not to scale. Numbers match the list.
  1. Pointed or spear topsMake the top of the fence awkward to grip and climb over.
  2. Rails on the inside faceKeep footholds off the outside, where someone would climb from.
  3. Close pickets and a solid heightLeave less room to squeeze through or reach over.
  4. Gates that lockA strong fence is only as good as its weakest gate.

What a fence can and can't do. No fence makes a property impossible to enter. A good one marks the boundary, deters casual entry and slows people down, and works best with lighting, locks and clear sightlines.

Plan the whole perimeter

A secure fence is planned as a line with no easy gaps, including where it meets walls, buildings and gates.
