How De-Fence collects, uses and looks after the details you give us when you make an enquiry. Last updated 11 October 2026.

Who we are

This website is run by De-Fence Holdings Pty Ltd (ACN 604 535 533), trading as De-Fence, a fencing company in Sydney, NSW. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean De-Fence.

What we collect

When you send the enquiry form, we collect:

  • the service you are interested in, your suburb or postcode, and any optional project details you choose to give;
  • your name, phone number and email address;
  • your message, and whether you would like an on-site measure;
  • the page you sent the form from, the date and time you sent it, and an enquiry reference number;
  • how long the form took to complete, so that very fast, possibly automated enquiries can be flagged for us to check.

If you arrived at the website from a link in an advertisement or another website, the form also sends the campaign details in that link (such as the source and campaign name) or the name of the website you came from. This helps us understand how people find us. It is held in your browser only for that visit and is sent only if you submit the form.

If you call or email us instead, we collect the details you give us in that conversation or message.

How we use it

We use your details to respond to your enquiry, give you a price, arrange a measure and quote, and carry out and follow up any work you accept. We don't sell your details, and we don't use them for marketing unless you have agreed to it.

How the enquiry form works

The form sends your enquiry to our website's server. The server then passes it to SMTP2GO, an email delivery service, which delivers it as an email to our team's mailbox. SMTP2GO processes the email to deliver it, and may store or process it outside Australia.

To stop spam and duplicate emails, the server keeps:

  • a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address and the times of recent enquiries from it, used to limit repeated submissions. Only the last 24 hours are used;
  • the enquiry reference number and the time it was sent, so the same enquiry is not emailed twice;
  • a technical log of whether each enquiry was delivered, which records the reference number and service but not your name or contact details.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not load content from other websites. The fonts and images are served from this website. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy first.

Storage and security

Enquiry emails are kept in our business email system for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, quote and any work we carry out, and to keep the business records we are required to keep. We take reasonable steps to protect your details from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

Access and correction

You can ask to see the details we hold about you, or ask us to correct them, by emailing info@de-fence.com.au or calling 1300 311 950. We may need to confirm who you are first.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or a complaint about how we have handled your details, email info@de-fence.com.au and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au (opens in a new tab).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example if the way the website works changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
