Fencing Prices and Quotes in Sydney

Every fence we quote is measured for its site, so we don't publish a price list. This page explains what changes the cost, how to keep your fencing affordable, and the two ways to get a figure for your job.

  1. An indicative price by phone

Call us with the rough length, the type of fence and the setting, and we can often give an indicative price based on previous jobs.

What affects the cost of a fence

Two fences of the same length can be priced quite differently. These are the six things that make the biggest difference.

  • Length and layout

The total run, and how many corners, ends and changes of direction it has. A run with many corners needs more posts and fittings for its length.

  • Height and purpose

A pool fence, a balustrade and a boundary fence each have their own height and strength requirements, which affect the materials and fixings needed.

  • Material and finish

Glass, aluminium, powder-coated steel and stainless steel are priced differently, and so are styles within each, from simple pickets to custom slats. Powder coating is included in our prices.

  • Gates and hardware

Each gate adds hinges, a latch and often a wider opening to frame. Pool gates need self-closing hinges and a self-latching latch. Automation adds a motor and power at the gate.

  • What it is fixed to

Core-drilling into concrete, fixing to timber, or fixing to the face of a slab or wall each take different fittings and time. Tiles, pavers and waterproofing can add care and cost.

  • Slope and access

Sloping ground, steps, retaining walls and tight access all take more work to set out and install than a level, open site.

How to keep your fencing affordable

Value comes from choosing the right system for the site and planning it well, not from cutting corners on safety.

  1. Match the material to the setting

A material suited to its setting lasts longer. Near salt water or pool chlorine, ask about aluminium or stainless steel.

  2. Quote the whole job at once

If you need a pool fence, a gate and a balustrade, have them measured together so the design, colours and fixings line up.

  3. Use what is already there

Sound brick walls, piers and slabs can often carry new panels or infills, which can mean less new work.

  4. Plan around paving and tiling

Posts can go in before or after tiling. Drilling through finished tiles carries a small risk of damaging one or two, so plan the order with your builder.

  5. Have the details ready

Rough lengths, a few photos and the surface the fence sits on help us give a more useful indicative price on the first call.

  6. Consider supply only

If you are confident installing it yourself, we can supply the materials. We recommend professional installation, because the way a fence is installed affects how it performs and whether it meets the rules.
